Thank you again for your assistance with preparing your child(ren) for the return to campus for in-person instruction. Our staff has been delighted to welcome our students back to campus, and are excited to engage them in the many learning opportunities that the months ahead will offer. The excitement related to this return has resulted in an overwhelming response from our families to participate in both in-person instructional and after school programs. Given that we are still under occupancy and social distancing restrictions by the County, we are utilizing every available instructional space to accommodate our school’s programs. With this said, in the event of an inclement weather event, we are limited in our ability to provide supplemental space, and consequently will need to modify our program offerings should these conditions arise, resulting in the cancellation of the Beyond the Bell and after school programs. As always, our primary focus is to ensure that each child is provided with access to a rigorous instructional program, so on days when inclement weather conditions arise, all instructional cohorts will meet as scheduled. Only Beyond the Bell/after school programs will be cancelled. Students should arrive only for the instructional program and leave at the conclusion of their class. The Office of the Superintendent works closely with the District’s Office of Environment Health and Safety (OEHS) to monitor weather conditions to help identify storms that have a greater than 50% likelihood of producing precipitation. Should these conditions arise, you will be notified the day before the proposed closure via the following means:
1) By approximately 2:00 p.m., notifications will be sent to families via email, text, and Blackboard Connect Ed messages informing you of the BTB/After School Programs closure at our site.
2) At student dismissal, students will be sent home with a flyer informing you of the BTB/After-School Programs closure at our school site.
3) Our schools social media outlets and website, will have information posted with related to the closure of BTB/After School Programs. While we understand the impact that these closures may have on your family as you work to coordinate alternate means of childcare, our priority is always to ensure the safety of the staff and students entrusted to our care.Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact our school’s Main Office at (323) 373-2700.
