Foshay 10th Grader Wins Warren Christopher Scholarship and Will Attend National Student Leadership Conference!

Congratulations to Foshay Tenth Grader, Minna Belidhon. Minna has been selected to receive the Warren Christopher Scholarship of $20,000, which she will receive upon acceptance to a college or university. Minna was also selected to attend the National Student Leadership Conference at the American University in Washington D.C., on a full scholarship this summer. Foshay is very proud of you, Minna!! Stewart Alvayero Signs With Vanguard University in Costa Mesa!

Senior Foshay Student, Stewart Alvayero has signed his letter of intent to attend Vanguard University, with a full academic and soccer scholarship for four years. Established in 1920, Vanguard University was the first-four year college to set up a campus in Orange County in 1950. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We are very proud of Stewart. Go Wolverines!

Foshay Boys Volleyball make the playoffs and Swimming qualifies for the Prelims!

Congratulations to our Boys Volleyball team who were ranked #7 in the LAUSD/CIF Division 3 playoffs! Foshay will be hosting the first round playoff game on Tuesday, April 30th; time will be announced. The Foshay Swimming team has also qualified to participate in the League Preliminaries which will also take place on April 30th. Let's wear our Foshay gear on Tuesday to support the student athletes. Foshay Students are traveling to South Korea with the Los Angeles Philharmonic!

Congratulations to Foshay's ASB Vice-President, Jonathan Antonio, and NAI tenth grader, Andy Gonzalez, for being selected to travel to South Korea on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, with the LA Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of conductor, Gustavo Dudamel. The students are scheduled to perform in Seoul, South Korea on Saturday, March 16, 2019. There were only 15 high school students selected to attend and two are from Foshay! (Laska, 3/12)

LAUSD Seeks HS Students for Superintendent's Student Advisory Council

The Division of Instruction's "Student Involvement, Development and Empowerment Unit" is seeking members to the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC). ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
1) High school students who attend LAUSD high schools.
2) 2.5 or better GPA. No failing grades or unsatisfactory marks on the 20 week report card.
3) Must be able to balance SSAC and school related responsibilities
4) Must be endorsed by the school principal.
5) Must successfully complete the application process, including a personal interview.
6) Must be able to serve a one-year term
7) Experience in a school leadership position is desired but not required.
Note: If eligible, current SSAC members may continue on the council.
