LSLC History

The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) program was created in 1989 in response to teacher demands for schools to have more local control. The Council allows parents, teachers, and other school staff members to contribute to planning that affects their school.

LSLC's primary purpose is to make decisions around the budgeting of funds titled 4170, but it is also in charge of event scheduling and policy.

Foshay's LSLC is made up of the Principal, UTLA Chapter Chair, 7 UTLA seats (Faculty). 5 parents or community members, 1 classified Staff and 1 Student for the LSLC. Each seat can hold an alternate position. Meetings are monthly as shown in the schedule above.
