Local School Leadership Council (LSLC)
LSLC Overview
The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) is a shared decision-making body composed of elected parents, community members, school personnel, and the Student Body President and Vice President (students in Leadership). The LSLC works cooperatively to assemble decisions in these areas of the school program:
- School calendar
- Professional development schedule
- Budget for instructional materials
- Student discipline guidelines, including the dress code
- Guidance for school equipment rentals, such as copy machines
Meetings
The LSLC normally meets monthly on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in-person live stream via Zoom unless otherwise indicated. Any in-person meetings will be in the Parent Center. The principal leads the Meetings.

LSLC History
The Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) program was created in 1989 in response to teacher demands for schools to have more local control. The Council allows parents, teachers, and other school staff members to contribute to planning that affects their school.
LSLC's primary purpose is to make decisions around the budgeting of funds titled 4170, but it is also in charge of event scheduling and policy.
Foshay LC needs 5 parents, 1 alternate, 1 classified and 1 students for the LSLC. Meetings are monthly as shown in the schedule above.
