MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Digital Portfolio – Create pages and subpages
A. Senior Portfolio: Personal Statement, Goals, My Road
B. Resume – recommendations, cover letter, resume
C. My Work – websites, graphics, animation, writing, etc
D. Other?
2. IC3 –
A. Computing Fundamentals – Pass/No Pass
B. Key Applications – Pass/No Pass
C. Living Online – pass/ No Pass
3. If you have not passed a test – create a plan about how you will study/practice so you are set to pass at least one this week
4. Resume – if you have passed all IC3 tests – update resume to include your certification

5. WHAT NOW – once you have done all this – and turned it in for final clearance from Aaronson – take practice test for Flash or Dreamweaver or try Microsoft Office Specialist
OR
6. DESIGN YOUR OWN PROJECT

Thursday
Update your google sites digital portfolio to make it ready for your senior portfolio. Look at Gustavo's for all the necessary links.

Update your resumes - especially if you have received your IC3 certification

Take a practice test for Ic3 or Flash or Dreamweaver

• Goals - immediate, 5 year, 10 year goal to home page of Google Site - See example:

Review key applications
look at Excel using math data (below) and answer questions...
Take Key applications pretest and post test - 10 points for passing each test/ 8 points for trying.

Get ready for presentations next week

1. Work on Google Sites- must have resume to meet with mentor.
2. Create sample cover letter for a dream internship position. Use template below.
3. Research places for potential summer jobs, internships, job shadow. Email me if you already have something set up.
4. Take preassessment for IC3 Section 1 and Section 2
   

FRIDAY
Mentors to class - meet in small groups to review portfolios, give suggestions, look for summer opportunities

• review presentations
• Reassess goals
• What are summer plans - think about potentail job shadow, internship, job
• review google sites

• Create pages - work sample, recommendation, writing sample, resume, cover letter, service learning reflections

FRIDAY

PERIOD 3:

Get students into groups of 4 – recommendation: count off each student 1-7.

 

In these small groups the students are to look over a Google application (see list below)

 

GOOGLE APP

1. Books/ scholar

2. Alerts/ Translate

4. Health

5. Blogger

6. Picnik

7. Sites

 

 

In small groups – get familiar with the program

Then create a presentation that explains:

1.The purpose of the program

2. Why to use the program

3. How to use the program.

4. Cool tricks

5. A brief tutorial showing how to use the program (remember you can use “print screen” to add images.

 

 

The work they do today should be uploaded into one of their Google Docs folder they share with me.

 

PERIOD 5:

Students are already in their groups and have started the presentations.

 

They need to continue working on their presentations and adding the tutorial component.

If they appear done, they can start practicing their presentations to the class.
