Welcome to middle school!  My name is Mrs. Burton, and I am the 6^th Grade NAI ELA and Social Studies teacher.  I am delighted to have you in my class this school year at James A. Foshay Learning Center.  I am looking forward to a very successful year, and I know you are, too.  The NAI Program has high expectations for you, and I will be doing all that I can to help you achieve these expectations. I will be offering rigorous course work that teaches students to become “global-minded” individuals.  These are students who use complex thinking strategies that will enable them to maximize academic performance, gain enthusiasm for life-long learning, show respect for others, and be prepared to compete in the global economy.  These skills help to contribute to the student as a whole.
