Mr. Womack was honored at Education Through Music - Los Angeles' 2017 Benefit Gala on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017. The organization raises support for music in disadvantaged LA schools and honors those whose contributions through music have positively impacted lives. The event was organized to celebrate together and raise funds to give children hope and success through a well-rounded education, one that includes quality music and arts instruction.

showing I try and be that kind of a teacher for where is Lincoln look at me and healing and get some kind of weak that can happen to him as opposed to just being a teacher who is critiquing the Mega Man in fence from Vince has as all music teachers do on a genda and a vision based on the knowledge that comes from hockey learning music he has a uncanny ability to move wonderful Vision forward but frame it in the context of what's going to work where we are and what the needs of the community are and what kind of performances and knowledge are going to allow students to transcend their community and improve the community at the same time muscle Mac how you feeling I feel wonderful I feel proud it's great white Hennessy the qualities that make Vincent Womack stand out my goodness individual is his kind he is one of the most passionate kind people that I know he is for the students when I think about Vince Womack I think about his sacrifices that he makes to be here for our students he comes in on weekends and I'm late he'll stay late at night he is the type of person that will give you their his the shirt off his back that's just his compassion for the kids play instrument everything inspires me the most about mr. Womack his is just his his driving and his his commitment to I'd like to us and our community here there's not really that many opportunities for underprivileged students around here to go to pick up an instrument and just him being there and take and making them into these amazing how many musicians but people it it's really inspiring and it makes me want to be just like it is really really crazy how he can relate and he's been able to reach every student he's encountered at the at 6 a lot you have a room full of people and some of them small some of the large some of them may be so small that you might think well I get weak but then a kid picks up an instrument and plays the instrument well and all of a sudden that they didn't call and we get home you know he might even have trouble walking home from school because people are pushing around but that chick picked up an instrument and did Grey things now that kid is the biggest kid in the house because he plays music fantastic shop I get better grades sometimes when I do music you get to experience all the things we play music you get Challenge and racing easy but it's not very easy it which is what makes it fun I want to really thank education through Music La for bringing this award to Vince because he truly deserves it he is the one that will go the extra mile he is the one making music happen at Foshay programs like education through music lar really really I don't especially today because our children are being challenged in so many ways to not be Focus thing to not stir things that are going to help us to have a better future and this program and not only helps me be better musicians and to serve your music communities but it helps them to serve the entire human Community congratulations mr. Womack on The Shining Star War I know you would tell us all what you're just lucky enough to be on our journey but man you are the bomb love you lots brother there's no one better that I feel deserves this award more than you so congratulations I Vince I would like to congratulate you on receiving The Shining Star Wars I just want to congratulate you on your Shining Star Award I'm so honored to be able to share my experiences with you and you know as my you're like a brother to me I am just proud of you I'm proud of everything you do and all you've done for our student
