Text Box: The US Post Office in Hollywood has now been named after Johnny Grant, the honorary Mayor of Hollywood. Grant passed away on January 29, 2008 at the age of 84. 

President Barack Obama signed a bill by Congresswoman Diane Watson to rename the post office after Grant. The ceremony took place on Monday, May 10, 2010 on the front steps of the post office. 

Text Box: All were there to pay tribute Grant and his service to not only the community of Hollywood, but the nation. Grant hosted many Hollywood Walk of Fame induction ceremonies and introduced legendary movie stars to the U.S. Postal Service's Legends of Hollywood stamp series. Grant also served as a U.S.O. ambassador and joined Bob Hope to take entertainers to war zones and perform for the troops.
