A Little History
Foshay's high school program started in 1994-95 with 9th and 10th grade students. The first graduating class was in 1997. The high school program was designed with one goal in mind; to prepare students with the necessary skills to be successful in whatever they choose to do after high school, whether that be college, work or the military.
All students take the UC/CSU A-G course requirements while at Foshay to enable them to qualify for most any college or university in the nation. Students also participate in a 9th grade House and, beginning in 10th grade, one of three career academies which provides them with skills enabling them to qualify for entry-level positions in the finance, technology or health field.
Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC) Accrediation
Accredited! (Expires in 2015)
Foshay maintains a high school population of 625-675 students. There is no ESL program available. Students with special needs are serviced, depending on the availability of their program. Foshay high school is not a school of residence for LAUSD. Eligible 8th grade students participate in an application process beginning in January of each school year. Students are primarily selected through a lottery process.
Foshay is always looking for parent volunteers! There are many ways for you to support your child - supervising on field trips, campus safety, campus beautification, tutoring, etc. There are several school-wide committees that require parent representation, and our 9th Grade House and all three career academies also have advisory boards you could help with! If you are interested in helping out, see Mr. Melendez in the Family Center. (313) 373-2732
