Dress Code

Dress Code & Prohibited Items

 ALL ELEMENTARY STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING DRESS CODE:

  • Plain White, Light Blue or Gray Polo Shirt and/or any Foshay T‐shirt
  • Navy blue pants, black pants, skirts, jumpers or shorts (Please note, NO denim jeans.)

 

ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING DRESS CODE:

  • Plain White, Light Blue or Gray Polo Shirt and/or any Foshay T‐shirt
  • Navy blue pants, black pants, denim jeans, skirts, jumpers or shorts

ITEMS THAT ARE NOT ALLOWED:

  • No low-­‐cut or see-­‐through blouses, bare midriffs, tube or halter-­‐tops or spaghetti
  • No tank tops, net tops, mesh jerseys or muscle
  • No bicycle shorts, boxer shorts or leggings worn No pajama items period!
  • No lewd or profane/obscene clothing or clothing that exhibits prejudice regarding racial, ethnic, gender or religious
  • No clothing or items that advertise illegal controlled substances, alcohol or tobacco and/or gang
  • No “short shorts” will be Shorts may be no longer than knee length. Pants may be no larger than 2 inches above waist size and must be worn at the waist. Pants must be hemmed or cuffed (not stapled), may not drag on the ground, and may not be split at the bottom. They may not be tacked to the back of the shoe.

 

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED FOR ALL STUDENTS:

  • No hats or caps except in rainy weather (NO HATS ARE TO BE WORN INSIDE THE BUILDING). Exception for the Foshay
  • Jackets or jerseys indicating professional or college sports teams, except USC or UCLA
  • Sagging pants or any clothes that are obviously too large
  • Hairnets, hair curlers, combs, shower or stocking caps
  • Flip flops, slippers, open-­‐toe sandals or slip on shoes which do not have straps over the heel
  • Any clothing or items which may represent gang involvement, including, but not limited to: initialed belt buckles, colored thick shoelaces, or bandanas

 

Students observed using/wearing the following items during school hours will be required to turn them in to school personnel. Items will be labeled and secured.

  • Visible earplugs/earphones being used in the building
  • Cell phones, cameras, video games, MP3 Players, iPods or any playing device

 

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL NOT BE RETURNED IF CONFISCATED:

  • Weapons, razor blades, aerosol spray can or permanent marker
  • Toy guns and/or toy knives
  • Illegal drugs, alcohol or tobacco
  • Flammables such as lighters, matches, stink bombs or fire crackers
  • Initialed belt buckles, gang colored bandanas or colored thick shoelaces
  • Metal accessories, including but not limited to, utility chains and studded collars that may cause harm to others
