Year 2002-2011
Memoir I was a student at Foshay since 2002. I started kindergarten there with Ms. Gibbons. I remember making friends with such great kids whom I still talk to 'til this day. I went through all my elementary there. From Ms. Gibbons to Ms.Trochez (5th grade). My years in elementary were fabulous. I grew up loving all my classmates and teachers, even staff like Coach and Blanca. It was in 5th grade where I got into deep trouble that caused me to not walk the stage for 5th grade, but I still got to cherish my trip to Disneyland.
I learned so much that year as a fifth grader. Middle School came along; I was in C-track honors class as "scrub". My homeroom teacher was Mr. Howard. I will never forget him. He was the best teacher and still is 'til this day. I only had 4 teachers in 6th grade. Ms. Saporito, Mr. Howard, Mr. Persad, and Mr. Newhouse. 7th grade quickly came. Nothing big happened. Now 8th grade came. The year I would never forget. I was in a class with kids from different tracks because school was now year-round, but after a while I seemed to get along with everyone. My teachers were FUN. Mr. Jimenez my science teacher was actually the best. I thank him soo much for teaching me higher level things because I became a freshmen taking Physics. In eighth grade, I was in the adolescence stage where I was being disrespectful and hardly cared about anything but my grades. I did do some bad things but not so many. It was in 8th grade that I found myself more mature than other students. The thought of going to high school haunted me. A part of me wanted to move away to a different high school but a part of me didn't. I wanted to go away because I knew soo many people. Probably 3/4 of the whole school. I wanted to experience it the "high school way" since Foshay was a small high school. So mom signed me up in this charter school called Synergy. There I learned and still am learning so much. The couple of months I wanted to go back to Foshay. Everything was different. The people, the vibe, the neighborhood, the staff and even teachers. I don't regret moving though because I met some pretty cool people. Now I am on my way to becoming a sophomore & I STILL DEARLY miss Foshay Learning Center, the school I will always represent .
