Foshay will be administering the 2011 PSAT on Wednesday, October 12, 2011.  Grades 9-11 students will be taking the exam in their Advisory classes.  The testing location for grade 8 students will be determined at a later date.  The test fee for grades 9-11 students is $7.00.  The test fee for grade 8 students is $14.00.  All test fees must be paid to Ms. Beebe in N203 no later than Wednesday, 10/5/11.

After School Club starts Sept. 13, 2010.  The program hours are Monday-Friday, 3:00-6:00pm.  It is for students ages 7-12.
 
Weekly Fees:  $30/week without transportation; $35/week with transportation
(Transportation provided from Foshay Learning Center, Tom Bradley Elementary, 42nd Street, Audubon Middle School, & Barack Obama Prep.)

The goal is that the students who complete our entire certificate program will be highly qualified to enter any university program should they choose to do so. To address the needs of our students, we offer three options of study: an intensive two-year full certificate program, an introductory half-certificate to be completed in one year, or taking one quarter at a time as desired by the student. The classes provide high-level training in art, especially in drawing, and will help the student to build a strong portfolio as well as have the Chouinard name on their resume.
 
Classes offered:
Intro to Drawing I: 10a-12p
Intro to Drawing I: 1p-3p
Intro to Drawing II: 10a-12p
Painting I: 1p-3p
 
Cost:
$40 for 8 weeks. Work-study is available. Art supplies are provided.

Annual membership is only $20 per year. All of the participation in program(s) is included in the membership fee. Participation begins as early as the next day, after the Membership Dept has received the application. Assistance in Spanish is available.
 
The Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood is located on 850 N. Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90038 (corner of Willoughby and Cahuenga ( in-front of Time Warner Cable Company) between Melrose and Santa Monica). Club hours are M-F, 7:30am-8pm and office hrs. are from 12:30pm-7:30pm.
 
This is a great opportunity for students who need a safe and productive place to be during vacation time and/or even after school! We are open to service the youth all year long! Our environment is a great and safe place for all youth ages 6-17. Members can enjoy a place to be actively receiving homework assistance… playing a sport…doing art…meeting new friends…gaining computer skills…or simply having fun! And, if you know of any youth ages 12-17, who would like to join us on Fridays, from 5:45pm-8:45pm, we have Club Teen Night. Every Friday, we welcome all our new "Teen visitors" to come and enjoy an awesome and safe time vs. being in the streets, risking their lives!
